It is definitely a different world that we are living in right now. A different kind of norm than we are used to. Oftentimes now when we have the opportunity to leave our homes, this is how we leave or are greeted by others.
Yes, this is definitely different and hard. And with everything negative the news is plastering on every day, it’s hard to find a positive perspective.
The other day, I was having some quiet time with the Lord and confessing on all this Covid-19 issues and how 2020 has turned out to be completely unexpected. Then the Lord softly gave me a revelation that hit me and I felt burdened to share.
Typically, when you think of 2020, what does your mind go to first? Vision. 20/20 vision is perfect vision right?
Then the Lord asked me, “Where is your vision, Angie? What are you focusing on? Are you only seeing this virus and everything negative? Or will you look further to something better?”
If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves. But when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed.
Proverbs 29:18 MSG
Listen, I understand that this virus is dangerous. The world is crazy at the moment. Our new normal can be isolating and downright depressing. There is no toilet paper! I live in a city that now has the biggest hotspot in the country, but should that be all I focus on? What is our vision? I have heard countless times people say that they are ready for 2020 to be over.
We need a better vision. We need to be able to bring HOPE to those around us, despite the circumstances. Only then can we truly heal.
HOPE: a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen
With all the negativity being blasted at us daily, we need to find that positivity. That hope. Have a vision that things will turn around. They will get better, even if we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel yet.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
Faith and Hope make life worth living. I love how the message says that verse in Hebrews.
The fundamental fact or existences is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. Its our handle on what we can’t see.
Hebrews 11:1 MSG
So what vision are you clinging to? One that is drought in isolation, depression, worry, fear? Discouragement with everything you are hearing?
Maybe we need to shut off the news and spend time listening to the still small voice of hope.
For I know the thoughts I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me, and find me, when you search me with all your heart.
We need to bring this vision of life worth living to those around us. We need to bring hope to those that are hurting and depressed and do not have any vision for the future. Help spread the vision that we will get through this time. Let’s get a 20/20 vision for the remainder of 2020 and spread it to the world around us!
The world needs HOPE!
